Asparagus, Toast & White Sauce









I love it when asparagus is in season! This is our favorite way to eat asparagus:
We serve the steamed asparagus on toast with this basic white sauce drizzled over the top.

2 Tbs. Butter
2 Tbs. Flour
1 C. Milk
dash of salt
dash of pepper

In heavy sauce pan over low heat, melt butter. Stir in flour with a wire whisk. Cook over low heat for three minutes, stirring constantly. Do not allow the mixture to brown. Gradually stir in milk. Cook until thickened.
